INSPIRATION AND ADVICE

ASOS INSIDERS STYLE OUT SPRING

Springtime usually means a little closet refresh, right? And, although we’re spending more time safely indoors, what to wear for backyard/balcony hangs, daily exercise and group-chat link-ups is still on our minds – and taking our minds off more serious stuff, too. So, what better source of springtime style is there than our ASOS Insiders? Take a peek at some of the looks we’ll be stealing from them below.

Ok, so we might have cheated a little. ASOS Jono is serving up looks fresh from Down Under, where it’s actually autumn ATM. BUT, geography and time zones aside, this is still a great spring look. Neutral tones meet relaxed skater vibes as Jono’s teamed a baggy knit – perfect for any drops in temps – with even baggier jeans. Of course, your super-skinny jeans are still cool, but, if you didn’t know, we’ve just dropped some brand-new denim cuts and our new loose fit has late-90s skate-vid vibes written all over it. Just saying.

One for warmer spring moments courtesy of ASOS Thomas here. Now, if there’s one item that’s pretty much guaranteed to style out spring in its entirety – it’s the overshirt. Half shirt, half lightweight jacket, overshirts really are a springtime go-to, especially in a bright striped colourway and paired with a matching cap. Team with light-wash denim, a fresh white tee and high-top Converse and that’s that. Spring styled. Done. You win.

Our graphic-print specialist ASOS Soouizz is showing us how to add those all-important pops of colour to a seasonal look. If matching his neon beanie (spring is still beanie season BTW) to the graphics on the Nike sweat wasn’t enough, Soouizz has opted for reflective joggers from streetwear brand Chinatown Market. The result is a look that’s 50% standing out and, somehow, 50% still very, very, wearable. We’ll be reflecting 😏 on this look for a long time.

There’s a lot to look at here, right? But, BAPE x Keith Haring cushions aside (yep, we love peeping our Insiders’ stylish homes too), we’re here for the looks. Spring is the perfect season for giving tops of all kinds – shirts, polos, tees – the knitted treatment. Knitted styles are lightweight enough to keep you cool in the sun and snug enough for the colder AMs and PMs. Ideal. Turns out florals really are ground-breaking for spring, as ASOS Ruddy has teamed a knitted psychedelic petal print with a pair of relaxed chinos. And there you have it: your spring styling 101.
