FLAT LAY
YOUR SPRING TO SUMMER SWITCH-UP
By Steven Potter, May 7, 2019
Prepping your line-up from one season to the next is always tricky... how do you cater to the changing temps without having to rethink your whole repertoire? The key is choosing your fave trend of SS19 and adapting it to the weather with a couple of seasonal switch-ups (some of which you may already have in your wardrobe). Check out the two looks below for some easy hacks for now and later.

Now: a spring thing
Lightweight outerwear, like this utility-vibe khaki jacket, is the cornerstone of any spring look. It won't overheat you in the warmer afternoons and will keep you nice and snug during colder mornings. To brighten up the darker jacket (it is spring after all), go for a tie-dye tee. With the psychedelic favorite making big waves this season, you can get on that hype early. Opt for the brightest colorway you can find, pairing it with your fave mid-wash jeans. Sneakers are always a win, and for a touch of dadcore, a pair of chunky kicks like those New Balance 878s is the one.

Later: summertime fine
If you’re taking one spring thing through to summer, make it the tie-dye T-shirt — if the warmer months came in print form, this would most definitely be it. Update it for the summer by swapping out the mid-wash jeans for your fave shorts, preferably in a lighter shade for those peak summer vibes. When temps really start soaring, trade in your sneakers for some sandals... footwear of the "open air" kind might not be to everyone's tastes, but recent iterations during the SS19 shows from MSGM and Fendi transformed the former faux-pas with sneaker-like soles and techy, hiker-style strapping. Sandal with care...
