HOW TO WEAR SS19 PASTELS

If you’re looking for an easy wardrobe update that perfectly channels the (hopefully) heady summer days ahead, get into pastels. Alongside neon, more low-key-yet-still-bright shades came out on top during the SS19 men’s shows, as Givenchy showcased lilac suits and Acne Studios offered up relaxed sweats and color-blocked shirts. If you’re feeling the vibe, check out the three looks below for some punchy-pastel picks.

Springtime transitional

We’re talking summer, yeah, but (as we all know) you can’t always rely on uninterrupted sunshine. Team a lightweight knit in a super-subtle ecru hue with some washed-neon shorts for those not-quite-so-warm days. A metallic fanny pack channels some Y2K-style vibes and, if temperatures do rocket, pick up a pair of techy sandals, seen across a lot of menswear shows (with standouts from MSGM and Fendi’s SS19 collection).

Suiting 2.0

Tailoring stepped back into the limelight this season, with suits and smart separates getting bold updates across the board. It’s not just your new wedding look that gets a colorful rework — off-duty suiting is very much a thing with Alexander McQueen and AMI both styling their pieces with T-shirts instead of your classic button-down. So, don’t just save a nice new blazer like the blue one above for big occasions — pair with your favorite tee, some chunky AF sneakers and worker-style pants for double the looks with minimal effort.

Get shirty

Forget inspiration from one decade — why not cop a shirt that combines elements from three? You’ve got tie-dye, for a throwback '70s vibe. If you could choose a print that sums up the '90s, it’s the tattoo-style one on the chest. And that lightweight mesh not only keeps you cool, but radiates some big Y2K appeal too. Three iconic decades of style in one garment? Just wear this all summer. If you’re looking to give your shorts game an update, a pocket-laden utility style is your go-to. Keep the flower-power ethos going strong with some Converse Golf Le Fleurs with the iconic flower logo on the side too. Peace.
