WHAT TO WEAR TO A SUMMER WEDDING
By Spencer Cain, July 24, 2018
July may be coming to a close, which has left us all in that classic disoriented state, wondering where exactly the summer has gone. But fear not — we've got months more of swampy, uncomfortable temps to trudge through, and (of course) fridges covered with wedding invitations to tackle. August-September nuptials are a lil' bit tricky: given the climate, your typical tux isn't the move (assuming the RSVP doesn't say black tie) and summer is the ideal time to bring a different vibe to the party. Allow us to show you how it's done...
This impeccably-dressed gent at the recent New York Fashion Week SS19 shows proves that short suits deserve just as much credit as their full-coverage counterparts. Yes, freeing the knees is centered in practicality — but it's also a really strong sartorial move. A wedding during this time period provides the perfect opportunity to mix things up, so a major pop of print is thoroughly encouraged. All that's left is the footwear. If the event is on the slightly more casj side (read: on a beach), a sleek sandal or white kick is solid. But if elevating the vibes is the goal, opt for a slip-on. Done and done.
