4 RETRO KNITWEAR STYLES
By Spencer Cain, October 28, 2018
Rocking throwback threads is still the move this season, and what better way to pay homage to decades past than by donning a retro knitted sweater? Take it back to the '70s with a classic grandpa cardigan, or channel your inner Steve Jobs and opt for a turtleneck moment. Here are our four stellar knits to get you through fall in style...

Cardie party
The cardigan has had a number of iterations over the years. What began as a military-inspired garment became a womenswear staple thanks to Coco Chanel. Years later, it nabbed icon status in the '70s as dad-fashion skyrocketed in popularity to counter the disco era. Courtesy of mega-brands like Gucci and Saint Laurent, retro embellished and patterned cardigans are now catwalk staples. Nothing shows respect to the old school quite like a check print. Make the 'fit a 2018 hit by going slightly oversized, and pair with wide-leg pants for a transitional home run.

Not-so-mellow yellow
Fall/winter does tend to have people reaching for a gray palette — but frankly, we're down to switch things up. Just because the weather is bleak doesn't mean a pop of neon yellow isn't a welcome addition to the simplest of looks. As this textured knit is high on the bold spectrum, try styling it with wide-leg pants and monochrome sneakers, swapping in a khaki waterproof parka on rainy days.
