INSPIRATION AND ADVICE

ASOS INSIDERS: SUMMER STYLE

Still stumped for summer style inspiration? Not to worry — the ASOS Insiders have been displaying strong seasonal steez at festivals, beaches and coffee shops all over the globe, so we’ve got a whole lot of advice for you to take on board. Just look…
ASOS Insider Ashley wearing baggy, cord trousers, a black logo tee, pastel 5-panel cap and gold Air Max 95s | ASOS Style Feed

With fewer layers to work with, summer dressing is all about showing off strong tones and textures to make up for it. Our London lad @ASOS_Ashley already has it locked down here, putting aside his usual cuffed chinos for baggier, cord pants that hang neatly above his gold Air Max 95s. He keeps the rest simple and street-ready with an oversized, black logo tee, a pastel 5-panel cap and stylish sunnies.
ASOS Insider Dennis wearing a boxy graphic tee and scribbled-on, light-washed jeans | ASOS Style Feed

SS17 trends were filled to the brim with customization and graphic prints that, when paired together, can easily create a busy, distracting look. But with a few simple styling tweaks, you can achieve Jaden Smith-levels of print perfection. Follow @ASOS_Dennis here by opting for a boxy graphic tee and tucking it into your scribbled-on, light-washed jeans for a play on proportions. Pare things back on foot with classic Old Skools Vans and add a touch of idiosyncrasy through a shoelace belt.
ASOS Insider Oliver wearing brown chinos, a black tee and indigo cap | ASOS Style Feed

Our Scandi-man @ASOS_Oliver’s signature style has him sorted when it comes to the warmer months. For him, it’s simply a case of staying true to his minimalist nature and letting the varying shapes do the talking. Some brown, wide-leg chinos are a fresh start and things only get more seasonal when paired with satisfyingly-worn-in Converse. Then, up top, Oli throws on a black tee, an indigo cap and finishes with a cross-body bag.
ASOS Insider Jono wearing light trousers, white plimsolls, grey socks and a knitted tee | ASOS Style Feed

@ASOS_Jono may be on the other side of the world, but, with the mercury still relatively high in Australia’s coldest temps, he’s managed to maintain a strong summer-ready style all year round. Like Oli, he switches out darker pants for a lighter, fresher alternative. Some mid-cut white plimsolls and gray socks keep the palette clean and neutral, while a tucked in lightweight, knitted tee brings a strong SS17 touch.
ASOS Insider Luce wearing an Ellesse tracksuit, a cross-body bag and dad cap | ASOS Style Feed

Sometimes dressing for the heat doesn’t require a literal losing of layers, but a seasonal refinement of your everyday steez. That’s what @ASOS_Luce has gone for this summer, opting for a more lightweight tracksuit combo and adding in touches of vibrant color through logo prints and trainer detailing. His cross-body bag and dad cap provide the perfect finishing touches to his monochrome masterpiece.
