INSPIRATION AND ADVICE

NYFWM SS18 STREET STYLE

To New York, our final destination on the menswear leg of the SS18 fashion circuit. Our latest look at next summer’s style predictions hasn’t disappointed, however, it’s been the streets surrounding the shows where the strongest 'fits can be found. Here's our round-up of Big Apple brilliance.

Guy here is not for switching out his wintry, khaki overalls for more summer-ready overalls — and for good reason. It's 'cause he knows all too well that he can simply drop the top half down, wrap it around his waist and earn extra style points by showing off a white, long-sleeved graphic tee underneath. Strong.

The slightly querying look on this fella’s face, along with his choice of a bold summery shirt, makes us think there’s a strong possibility that he’s only now realizing his flight took him to New York and not the South of France. You’re all good pal — that strong half tuck and those baggy pants will help you fit in nicely.

Welcome to SS17-style 101 with your guest lecturer, this dude right here. Oversized, longline threads aren’t on his sartorial syllabus — instead, his first teaching of the new semester is "the tuck." According to him, all you'll need to start is a graphic tee, the more obscure the imagery, the more idiosyncratic your look. Tuck into a pair of neat gray pants for a smart take on streetwear, then break things up with a black belt. His style lessons are so good it seems he's already busy tutoring over the phone.

The alternative to slipping out of the top half of your boiler suit, is to opt for a seasonal coord instead. Like this fella showed via his teal shirt-and-pants combo, doubling up on hues will not only makes your 'fit more versatile, it means that all you need is to throw on a fresh white tee underneath, some simple plimsolls on your feet and you can wait nonchalantly with your hands in your pockets for the crowds to inevitably flock.
