He may be used to performing on stage at various global enormodomes, but Zayn Malik’s latest outfit looks more appropriate for dancing in front of a sound-system on the back of a flat-bed truck at an outdoor rave in the '90s.

Visiting girlfriend Gigi Hadid in New York last week, the singer took retro style and gave it the standard Malik refresh. Black military boots were an obvious starting point — Zayn skipped the traditional Tippexed slogans but left them slightly unlaced for a punky edge.

With his ripped jeans updated for SS17 with bleach splatters and illustrations, the Bradford boy added a smart, technical, forest green jacket for dadcore trend points and a simple black T-shirt up top. All that was left was to add a high-vis orange beanie and Zayn was ready to fight for his right to party.
