HOW TO WEAR: '90s PASTELS
By Kasia Hastings, May 20, 2017
The '90s takeover continues this spring with the decade's fresh pastel hues at the top of the menswear agenda. Here's how to wear the trend well.

Look 1: minty fresh
We called out oversized, rugby-style shirts as one of 2017's key styles to try pretty early on this year. Fast forward a few months and the look has officially landed in the form of this purple and mint polo shirt.

A pastel piqué weave, striped collar and graphic back print make for a nice, solid update on an old-school classic. Wear with slim-cut navy Dickies and a pair of crisp, adidas sneakers to keep things looking clean cut.

Look 2: just peachy
Pink always packs a punch so, this season, take things in a peachier direction to up the ante a little. For best results, go for simple cuts with cool prints in a light sugary hue, like this retro oversized sweatshirt and pair of tailored chino shorts.

Wear all pastels with matching socks and black sandals for a particularly strong look, or team with light, summery kicks for a more pared-back approach. Finish up with a cream side bag or hat to do some solid tonal work.

Look 3: to dye for
Tie-dye was everywhere in the '90s and, believe it or not, it isn’t just for festivals. For a techy take on the trend, try this multi-colored mesh T-shirt. Worn over a plain white tee, it’s a steezy new way of combining a wavy print and interesting texture.
