GET YOUR HAIR SUMMER-READY

If you had… Joe Wicks’ shaggy shoulder locks
Update it with... extra texture
"Removing some weight will really help to summer-ready this 'do," says Sam. "So ask your barber to texturise your hair. This simple technique is a minor change that will really improve it and make it easier to manage. A touch of sea-salt spray prior to drying will give you a small amount of control and boost the texture, too."

If you had… Calvin Harris’ mid-length scissor back and sides
Update it with… a sweep back
"You may find your hair coming over your ears and onto your neck. With the weather heating up, this can be frustrating. Lifting the length off your collar and over your ears will give you a smarter summer look. Ask your barber to leave enough length internally to style back — sweeping makes things more manageable. Styling paste is your friend here."

If you had… David Beckham’s clipper back and sides with a side parting
Update it with… a closer cut
"This one’s a popular choice for all ages and professions alike. Simply drop down a grade on the back and sides, but be sure to ask your barber to give you tapered edges for a more natural-looking cut."

If you had… Zayn Malik’s styled pomp
Update it with… a looser approach
"The pomp was a big hit with our more adventurous clients last year, but as you bring it into summer, leave a bit of product behind. Reducing the amount you use will not only help stop the itchiness the sun can cause to a gel or mousse-heavy head, but it’ll make for a looser and more laid-back look."

If you had… Tyga's blunt crop
Update it with… new bangs
"The fashion-conscious lot went for this look big time over the winter months, and for summer you’ve got two paths to take. Either ask to go tighter through the top with more texture, or start the process of getting the fringe back. I’d pick the second — the beauty of growing a fringe is the number of styles you can play with. You can sweep it over, or style it with a clay to mess it up."
