The search for the perfect haircut has helped Liverpool-born Miguel Gutierrez rack up some serious air miles, taking him to 30 countries and counting. With a year-long pilgrimage discovering male grooming’s global history under his belt (which he’s documented over on his YouTube channel as well as his feed), The Nomad Barber has finally put down some roots just off London’s Brick Lane, and offers impeccable cuts and shaves inspired by his lessons with the world’s best.

When he’s not riding Harley Davidson motorbikes around Los Angeles, being a rad dad to his kids or surfing the Californian waves, perpetually stoked-on-life Jason Schneidman is taming the locks of Celebrityland’s biggest and best. His feed is filled with vids of him goofing around with Liam from 1D, behind-the-scenes pics with Future and James Corden, and shots with him hanging out with Mark Ronson. And then there’s Owen Wilson, Jonah Hill, Rob Lowe, Hugh Jackman… Nope, not jealous at all.

Brighton is no longer just about sticks of rock, donkey rides and rickety piers. Back in 2009, Paul Hewitt’s AONO brand introduced a very cool mix of barbering, tattoos and streetwear to the seafront town, and since then he’s taken his triple threat worldwide with a grooming boltholes in London and Cologne, Germany, too. Can’t get to one of his shops for your next chop? Chill out – you’ll usually find Paul and his team working their scissors off in pop-ups at the country’s finest summer festivals (which is where we first encountered Paul, working the iconic hair of The Prodigy’s Keith Flint, no less).

Over the years Frank Rimer has built himself a huge and devoted following of customers, all hungry for the man with the mega moustache to drop his expert snips and clips onto their ’do for the finest rockabilly or vintage cuts in the capital. Frank’s built his own shop in London, and what a shop it is. At Thy Barber, there’s PBR beer in the fridge, dusty vintage barber paraphernalia on the shelves, and some freakin’ huge bull horns on the wall. Treat yourself to a trip, and leave with the slickest old-school cut on your head.

‘Good hair doesn’t come from a jar’ is Andrew Kozak’s mantra, but is sure as hell does come from his scissors. This Californian’s all-killer no-filler feed is a must-follow for some instant Insta-spiration before your next cut – his work is like a scrapbook of the finest short, mid and long-length cuts right now.

First picking up a razor blade to give his grandfather a classic fade with a side part, Brad Cowan, boss man of the flippin’ excellent Harry Blades & Angry Dave’s Tonsorial Arts Parlour and The Epicly Taper’d Barbershop in Bristol, has been giving grade-A classic cuts for more than 15 years now. When he’s not getting to work in England, Brad’s off travelling the world and hitting up fellow barbers, and, more recently, cooking hunks of meat on his custom monster smoker. Life’s good in Bristol, that’s for sure.
