If you’re wondering how to clean suede shoes without ruining them, the good news is, it can be done! The method outlined in the video below is a no brainer and doesn’t require any weird lotions or potions — just a can-do attitude, a bit of elbow grease, some soapy water and a shoe brush. Check it out and restore your disco shoes back to a time before club-floor grime.

1. Firstly, take a suede cleaning brush and dip the soft-bristled side into some soapy water. Then, with soft strokes, apply the water to the suede, continuing until the whole shoe is wet.

2. Next, take a microfiber cloth and dab the suede, pushing and twisting to effectively soak up any excess water.

3. Stuff the shoe with tissue paper or newspaper and leave for two hours to ensure it's fully dry.

4. Remove the paper, take your now-dry brush and use the soft side to brush the dry suede, restoring it to its natural texture again.
