KANYE'S GUIDE TO COATS
By Gavin Jewkes, November 28, 2016
Into the blue
A heavy, cerulean topcoat with a fur trim (we hope that fur is faux, Yeez) — this is the clothing equivalent of throwing another log on the fire. Turning the temperature up with a brush of fuzz at the collar is also a nice way to play with proportions, as it broadens the upper half of your torso and makes your waist appear narrower.
Dyed in the wool
Right as rain(coat)
On days when the weather delivers surprise deluges by the literal bucketful, it pays to have a reliable trench at hand. A light, weatherproof piece of gear, like Kanye’s raincoat, also provides a great covering when you’re wearing a suit because it’s streamlined and won’t add bulk.
Pack a camel
Is Ye single-handedly responsible for the current popularity of the camel overcoat? Probs. Owning one of these overcoats offers the sweet relief of knowing you won’t ever have to buy another coat again.
Go classic with a bomber
Shearling is not only winter's cosiest jacket-lining option, it's Ye's latest textural obsession. Fleecy bits have warmed Kanye's cockles all year long, often in the form of key pieces from his Yeezy line. There's the black hooded leather number that's become his FW16 staple and the giant football-manager-meets-Game-of-Thrones parka that accompanied him on a spring trip to Iceland. Get on borg.
