INSPIRATION AND ADVICE
YOUR AUTUMN-READY ACTIVEWEAR
By Steven Potter, 18 September 2020
There’s way more to this Nike Running jacket than just sweet vintage vibes. It’s made from a wind-resistant and water-repellent fabric and breathable mesh so you don’t get too hot as you’re pounding the pavement. And, if the sun does make an unexpected return half-way through your next run, it also packs away easily and takes up very little room in your bag – ideal!
TNF might have established itself as the logo-heavy brand of choice for streetwear fans, but the brand’s designs are firmly rooted in outdoor exploration. Take the above fleece as an example: on the face of it, it would look great with your favourite jeans and a beanie, but it’s all the hidden details that make it perfect for outdoor exercise. That funnel-neck keeps the chill out and reinforced panels (the black bits) reduce friction as you take on a mountain or forest ⛰ or, you know, take a long walk to do the big shop?
Specifically designed for running in trickier conditions, these trail runners from New Balance feature a tough, outdoor-ready sole for more grip and durability. Comfort is still very much 🔑 though, as these kicks come complete with NB’s FreshFoam tech. Throw in the utility-based tonal colourway AND neon highlights, and you’d be totally forgiven for slipping these into your casual rotation too.
This one’s shows commitment. Think football and rugby training sessions in muddy, weather-beaten conditions. Under Armour’s ColdGear tech is made from a dual-layer fabric, trapping heat to keep you warm and letting go of any excess heat to keep you cool. Plus, it even moves sweat away from you skin to keep you comfortable. Wow, this top works out harder than we do… 👀
Of course, we were going to include joggers. Perfect for warm-up and warm-down sessions, frosty five-a-side games or even just chilly pre-gym walks, a pair of trusty joggers are a vital part of any activewear wardrobe. Soft, warm and cut in a super-skinny shape (leg-day gains right here), there really isn’t anything not to love.
