Welcome to the in-between season. IOW, the time when you can never predict the weather and, more importantly, what to wear for it. So, how to navigate dressing for this strange late-summer/soon-to-be-autumn period? As always, our ASOS Insiders are first to show us how it’s done, repping the freshest ’fits for transitional temps – think layered-up summer staples, New-in outerwear, light knits and statement accessories that'll have you prepped for any temp, any time...
ASOS Souizz wearing ASOS DESIGN | ASOS Style Feed

Rain, shine, hot, cold – you never know what's coming at the mo. Ideal for unpredictable climes, a light, long-sleeved tee works for every weather situ. Pair this ASOS DESIGN classic stripe tee with shorts when the sun’s out, and some tailored trousers, boots and a puffer jacket if you’re feelin’ the chill. For that cool NYC vibe, make like ASOS Souizz and switch up your accessories with a gold chain and coin purse.

ASOS Ruddy wearing a varsity jacket, jeans and white sneakers | ASOS Style Feed

Varsity jackets aren’t going anywhere, and the latest iterations are all about classic baseball styles with a twist – heavy on the logos, cool collars and vintage-style hues. How to wear ’em when the weather turns? Take a leaf out of ASOS Ruddy’s book and add vintage jeans, a Weekday tee and the new kicks you wear on repeat. And, for colder temps, simply throw on an ASOS DESIGN Day Social hoodie.
ASOS Ty wearing a Topman gilet | ASOS Style Feed

Gilets are perfect for this time of year – you can wear ’em over your fave tee and jeans for summer-ish nights, or with some chunky knitwear and utility trousers when the weather dips. We love this tonal vibe styled by ASOS Ty, who’s repping a Topman gilet with a simple cream shirt and Russell Athletic joggers.

Want to give that bold printed shirt (like ASOS Jono’s floral COLLUSION number) you've lived in this summer another lease of life? Layer it up with a cord or puffer jacket, and add some cargo pants. Go all-out on the pocket styles, like ASOS Jono here, for a ’fit that’s comfy enough to wear when you’re WFH, but feels a bit smart for when you’re out and about.
