OK, so you’ve probs got a few new summer looks on rotation by now, whether it’s a comfy co-ord or a psychedelic tie-dye-tee update – but what about the little things? They do make all the difference, after all. If you’ve kind of forgotten about the extras over the past few months, don’t worry – below, we’re bringing you five of the best accessories for summer looks, including hats, bags, jewellery and more.

Let’s kick things off with the throwback style of the season: the bucket hat. A 90s sub-culture staple adopted by Britpop fans in muddy festival fields and all-night ravers on pop-up factory dance floors, the bucket hat's now completed its shift from underground uniform to summertime staple. Slogan styles like the one above are big for this season – or, go fully retro with logo options from Fila, adidas Orignals and Tommy Hilfiger.

Next up, it’s the cross-body bag. Once reserved solely for socks-and-sandals-clad geography teachers on school trips, now it’s almost impossible to think about leaving the house without one. The ideal size for all your essentials, flight bags like the monochromatic piece above are perfect for just about any plan you have this summer and beyond ✈️ Plus, they look great too, of course.

Chain necklaces have always been kinda cool, but thanks to a certain BBC show this summer (and a dedicated Insta feed – seriously, 187K followers at the time of writing), the humble design is now the top accessory of choice. Plus, let’s face it – even a plain tee and jeans look better paired with a chain necklace. From chunky statement styles to more subtle, thin chains, there’s an outfit-upping piece for everyone.

If you’re not quite ready to join the bucket hat brigade, you can’t beat a classic baseball cap. Fun fact: they were invented in the 19th century to keep sun out of (you guessed it) baseball players' eyes ⚾️ Now, more than 150 years later, pick up a pastel hue like the one above for a summer 2020 take on the essential – or, up your brand-loving credentials with drops from Polo Ralph Lauren, Nike and The North Face.

Incredible to think we’ve got this far without mentioning sunglasses, isn’t it? This season, there’s almost too much choice when it comes to increasing your frame game. From classic faux-tortoiseshell and aviator styles to the influx of coloured lenses, sticking to just one style now seems like a missed opportunity... just sayin’ 😎
