ASOS INSIDERS IN FRESH NEW BALANCE KICKS

New Balance – the dad-trainer OGs – are back with a surprisingly slick new style: the 997S. An update on the ever-popular 997 range, the kicks feature a reworked midsole and sole for an ultra-cushioned ride. To test out the comfort and freshness levels, we roped in the ASOS Insiders for some first-hand inspo. Check out the looks below.

The 997S was built for comfort – ideal for skateboarder Joshua, who has teamed his kicks with a wavey, loose-fitting get-up (more room for activities, right?). Letting the sneakers do all the talking, Josh has gone for fresh white socks combined with a baggy tee and shorts combo, giving the kicks a certified 00s skate edge.

Nawal got the memo about utility being the hottest trend this summer. He’s picked out the black and stone colours from his 997S sneaks with a utility gilet and some fresh cargo pants for that fashion-meets-function look. The muted colours mean that the pink and turquoise hues in the trainers really pop – the only accessory required? That cheesy smile!
