6 SLICK STREETWEAR LOOKS FROM PFWM SS20
By Steven Potter, 27 June 2019
With runway shows from Off-White, Dior Homme and Louis Vuitton, Paris Fashion Week Men's is arguably the most anticipated event of the menswear calendar. With that sort of line-up, you can expect some of the best street-style in the game, too – and this season the showgoers didn't disappoint. Take a peek at our favourite looks below.
We’ve talked co-ords before and apart from the concept making it 100% easier to choose an outfit in the morning, a tonal two-piece like the one above can effortlessly give your casual getup a slightly smarter edge. That mesh vest underneath keeps things breezy and his pale pink kicks offer a flash of warm tones to an otherwise cool summer 'fit. Tres bien.
With all the wild colour schemes and prints doing the rounds, it’s easy to forget the ultimate summer combo: washed-blue denim and a fresh white tee. This Parisian street-styler has pulled off the classic look with a touch of rebellious detailing (note the graphics on the jacket and oversized chain necklace). It turns out punk’s not dead, it’s just been adopted by the Parisian show-goers.
In contrast to the stripped-back looks above – and in a move that we’ve always thought about trying but perhaps been too cautious to follow through with – this chap has opted to blend every key colour of the season (peep the trousers) with the standout design of the summer: tie-dye. With a tonal bum bag bringing this getup together, it turns out you can represent (nearly) every SS19 trend all at once, and we’re here for it.
Sometimes the trick to getting on board with a trend is nailing one key item. First, there were animal-print shorts in Milan and now this Parisian chap has gifted us another easy way into animal print's practical SS19 counterpart: utility. Just peep those statement trousers in all their toggled glory. Simply team with a graphic tee plus your favourite Nike kicks and watch those street-style pics roll in.
So, if you’re searching for some day-to-night styles for your trips abroad this year, the two stylish chaps above have all the inspiration you need. On the left, you’ve got a daytime sightseeing look locked down, and, on the right, that graphic tee has your dinner-and-drinks outfit covered, courtesy of that 70s-esque shirt – although you may want to swap the shorts for some chinos.
Now, mixing two different print styles can be tricky, but in a summer ruled by bold choices, it pays to be more adventurous. The guy above has kicked things off with a cut-and-sew floral shirt and copped a striped tee in a matching hue. With all the colourful action up top, he’s paired the look back with tailored trousers and smart shoes complete with studded details.
