SS19 PUMA KICKS STAFF STYLE
By Steven Potter, 24 May 2019
It’s an exciting time for boxfresh kicks: sportswear legend PUMA has just dropped three new styles. And this season, three 80s icons are given a 2019 spin in the form of the Ralph Sampson OG, the RS-X and the Cali. Want to find out more? Keep scrolling to see how our very own staff are styling out the nu-classics.
This is smarter summer dressin’ 101, chaps, so take note. A lightweight revere-collar shirt, high-waisted shorts, beret and a belt buckle that matches his jewellery? Très bien indeed. With a look this slick, Shoot Assistant Andreas has gone for the Ralph Sampson OGs to compliment his effort. The trainers celebrate the NBA Hall of Famer in all their sleek, 80s-original fame. It’s clean, it’s minimalist – it’s our go-to for all our smart-casual summer plans.
Now, it's time to jump right over to the other side of the spectrum with another Shoot Assistant, Courtney, and his punchy-in-pastel take on double denim. When life gives you lemons – make it a sick co-ord. Complimenting the look is the PUMA RS-X that takes inspiration from 80s running trainers (so expect a comfy ride), updated with a chunky-AF sole. Contrasting pastels basically radiate summer vibes and the purple overlays on the kicks are giving us all the sun-drenched feels. Fair play, Courtney.
If white kicks feel like a little too much maintenance, we hear you. Thankfully, there's a black version of the Ralph Sampson OG trainers, too. Tommy, our Pattern Cutting Assistant, has opted for a classic look with a touch of utility styling. With his black beanie, oversized tee and even his watch matching those black kicks, he’s opted for a bolder choice of trews (complete with utility pockets) to break up the monochrome palette.
