INSPIRATION AND ADVICE
HOW WE DO HOLIDAY PRINTS
By Steven Potter, 27 April 2019
Does anything say ‘summer’ more than a tie-dye T-shirt? We doubt it, and with the hippy/ravehead uniform of choice making a massive comeback for SS19, a washed-out T-shirt like Junior Designer Seb's is a good place to start. Even the print on the back conjures up mental images of taming the surf on faraway beaches (sigh). If office-appropriate beachwear isn't a look by now, Seb's nailed the would-be trend with those side-stripe trews and chunky Nike kicks. Excellent work.
Looks like we may have been too hasty with our ‘what’s more summer than’ assessment above. Turns out a bold, short-sleeve shirt also radiates serious sunny vibes. If you're planning on branching out from the classic plain, striped and floral pieces, make like Post Room Assistant Mal and keep it low-key down below. Those dark blue skinny jeans and Reebok Classics should do the trick. This look's got 'nice sunset meal and a few drinks' written all over it.
Holidays are the perfect chance to experiment with bolder style choices. With pastels and washed-out hues sitting alongside neon as the SS19 colour palette, some statement trousers are a great way to break into the vibe. The above trews might be considered a bit advanced for the Tuesday night pub quiz, but on holiday, this look's virtually mandatory. Junior Fashion Editor Warren has made them the focal point of his look by opting for a fresh white tee up top. If you've got some fancier plans on your travels, a pair of loafers instantly smartens it up.
