YOUR LONG-WEEKEND OUTFIT
By Steven Potter, 15 April 2019
Ah, the denim jacket. An absolute springtime essential. Lightweight enough to keep you cool but a vital layer in transitional climes or – more importantly – beer gardens. Black and blue options are fine, yeah, but that washed, neon-orange choice above channels two of this year’s biggest colour stories at the same time. Easy. Now, because you can’t always guarantee sun-drenched mini-breaks at this time of year, opt for a knitted tee underneath – in case the weather's a little on the chilly side.
Representing a few different shades can be tricky, but a solid way of tying a look together is to find some kicks with perfectly matching accents – so cop a pair with a chunky sole for a 2019 update. The humble tote gets a Y2K-inspired refresh in the form of a clear, rubberised option. Drop a couple of spare t-shirts in there for a quick outfit change and you’re good to go. Down below? Nothing says spring more than sun-bleached denim, so grab a pair of jeans as washed out as the jacket – but opt for a darker hue to make the most of that orange pop up top.
