There’s no escaping it. Neon is back and brighter than ever. No longer just reserved for raveheads and road workers, the in-your-face colour scheme has featured across SS19 collections at Marni, Acne Studios and Louis Vuitton, not to mention forming a big part of the latest ASOS DESIGN drop. With Day-Glo hues across clothing and accessories, we thought we’d take a look at how four of our very own ASOS Insiders are getting that glow.

ASOS_Ruddy, our resident skater-style enthusiast, has proved that a reserved use of neon can really pay off. Kicking things off with a double-denim co-ord, he’s made that 'fit really pop with an emergency-orange fleece from The North Face and neon-green socks. Who'd have thought they'd go so well with a pair of Timberland shoes in a classic sandy hue? The lesson: it’s more than acceptable to mix neon brights with more tonal shades.

With the 90s theme still going strong for SS19, take a leaf out of ASOS_Jono’s book and incorporate some highlighter hues into a 90s-inspired outfit. With a fluoro-green long-sleeved tee, Jono can afford to tone things down with some skater-style jeans and fresh white kicks. With his bleach-blonde curtains and oval sunglasses giving us all the Kurt Cobain feels, it’s grunge – but make it neon.

Even streetwear isn’t exempt from the influence of neon in the 2019 menswear fashionscape. ASOS_Luce, our streetwear connoisseur, has teamed a bright tee from cult skate brand SWEET SKTBS with some adidas Yung 1s in an equally bright colourway. Super fresh. With an adidas Originals puffer and plain chinos pulling the look together, he’s even found room for a matching key ring. Accessorising level: 1,000.

Taking the construction-worker reference to new realms, our Plus and Tall Insider Soouizz has shown that going bold can be best when it comes to your neon look. Repping a half-and-half sorta vibe, Soouizz has kicked things off with a green beanie and long-sleeved tee, complete with high-vis taping. Down below, those taped joggers keep the colour scheme strong with some more matching Yung 1s tying the look together. With that reflective puffer jacket, complete with matching fluoro lining, there’s no missing this 'fit. Bravo.
