adidas Ultraboost 19 trainers

The newest drop from adidas’ Ultraboost family, the Ultraboost 19 combines adidas’ signature Primeknit upper for maximum flexibility with a heel frame that gives you all the freedom you need to smash that PB. Down below, the brand's iconic Boost cushioning, with its super squishy and responsive foam, gets teamed up with a Torsion system that offers extra support as your foot lands and lifts off again. Not to mention a sweet monochrome colourway, of course.

New Balance Fresh Foam Hierro v4 trainers

But what if your chosen running route is a little more off-road? Well, you’ll need a chunkier sole with extra grip, a higher-cut, sock-like cuff and reinforced panels to deal with muddy tracks or rocky terrain. All details that the New Balance Hierro v4 above has in spades. With the same Fresh Foam cushioning as the Arishi v2s, the Hierro v4s are the more rugged, bulkier and outdoorsy cousin of the roadrunner range. With that tonal, stony colourway and neon-orange branding, even your running flex can be top of the 2019 agenda.

adidas Ultraboost Uncaged trainers

Back on that Ultraboost hype now but with a slight difference. Featuring the same upper and cushioning as the Ultraboost 19s, above we have the ‘Uncaged’ iteration. A lot of running trainers feature a ‘cage’ around the ankle – an insert that’s a little more structured and designed to offer more support. Well, some runners found this too restricting and cut it out themselves, leading to adidas taking matters into their own hands and releasing these super-flexible, cageless kicks. Sometimes less really is more.

New Balance Fresh Foam Arishi v2 trainers

Sticking with the monochrome vibe, meet the Fresh Foam Arishi v2 from dad-shoe pioneers, New Balance. NB might be channelling serious retro vibes with its casual offerings, but Arishis are a far cry from the brand's chunky throwback offerings. With a sleek, mesh upper to keep you cool, these kicks sit on top of the NB's Fresh Foam (hence the name) tech that’s designed to give you the most natural-feeling comfort possible. Ideal. With a colourway this wearable and a sole that comfy, don't be surprised if these kicks jog their way into your regular outfit rotation, too.

adidas Ultraboost Uncaged trainers

Available in blue and purple, the cageless Ultraboost features an 'engineered fit,' thanks to that stretchy Primeknit upper. It’s designed to wrap the foot like a little hug for extra support and comfort. The Boost cushioning isn’t just comfy, the harder you work the more it springs back, propelling you forwards. It’s like a little extra push when you need it most – ideal for those longer, more challenging runs. With a bold, purple and blue mixed-knit finish, team with a matching running tee and black shorts for tapping into this year's bold colour scheme.
