3 AUTUMN LAYERS TO UPDATE FOR WINTER
By Lakeisha Goedluck, 7 December 2018
Now, common sense will tell you that you should probably trade in your trusty Harrington jacket for a longline woollen coat – sharpish. But if you’re looking for something a little more trend-led this season, why not swap out your favourite autumn layer for one of these cold-weather-ready coats instead? Here are three steezy seasonal switch-ups to try out this winter.

Corduroy cuts
From velvet to fleece, there’s plenty of on-trend textures to choose from this season – but, of late, you’re most likely to spot a street-styler championing cord. If you were on the ball and bagged yourself a jacket made out of the fabric at the beginning of autumn, upgrade your cropped number and go for a longline version instead. Stick to one in a light-brown shade and bundle up against the chills with a hoodie and staple black jeans à la this bloke.

Hyped hue
It’s highly likely that everyone will be rocking emergency-orange garms well into the new year, so swap out your lightweight jacket for a sturdy puffer jacket in the colour that’ll last you until early March. As your coat will look so striking, opt for laid-back pieces when it comes to the rest of your getup. A basic sweatshirt, jeans and minimal creps should do the trick.

Just like the adage about wearing florals in spring, cracking out your check-print threads as soon as the temperature drops just makes sense. By now, your wardrobe is probably full of check overshirts, but it's time to take it that one step further and sort yourself out with a longline coat in the print. Follow in this guy’s footsteps and wear your outerwear option with cropped jeans and a clean pair of white Nike Air Force 1s for a traditional look with a road-ready twist.
