FLAT LAY
YOUR EMERGENCY-ORANGE OUTFIT
By Lakeisha Goedluck, 23 October 2018
It’s all too commonplace that as soon as autumn rocks around, out come the dark-coloured garms. However, on the AW18 menswear catwalks, designers ditched the sombre hues in favour of eye-popping neon shades. In particular, it was emergency orange that lit up the runway at Christopher Raeburn, Versace and Louis Vuitton, to name a few. So, here’s an outfit idea that’ll brighten up grey skies (and moods) this autumn/winter.

If striped T-shirts were your go-to this summer, fret not – they've still got mileage, just make sure you layer up accordingly. Go for a vibrant top like this one from Obey and wear it with an emergency-orange puffer jacket. That may sound like you're scarily veering into pumpkin costume territory, but trust, a 90s-flavoured outerwear option in the colour of the season is a solid shout.
Then, accessorise with a brilliant-blue Patagonia bum bag to echo the patterning on your tee and to up the streetwear element of your ensemble. Down low, subtlety is key to offset the in-your-face vibes of the rest of your getup. A pair of white Dickies work pants and the much sought-after adidas YUNG-1 creps in an off-white colourway will serve as a triumphant end to a well-balanced ’fit.
