5 SLICK LOOKS FROM NEW YORK FASHION WEEK
By Lakeisha Goedluck, 16 September 2018
The SS19 womenswear season kicked off in New York last week, and the men in attendance brought out their finest ’fits for the occasion. From funky printed revere-collar shirts to steezy cargo trousers, here’s our round-up of the best looks we spotted on the streets of the Big Apple.

The dream team
If anyone were to write a manual on the upcoming trends for AW18, we’d definitely put our faith in this chap. Beginning his look with an emergency-orange logo sweatshirt, he layers up with an abstract-print gilet to encompass the workwear aesthetic. Carrying the theme on down low, he opts for a pair of khaki cargo trousers and an ultra-fresh pair of Nike Air Jordan creps. Equipped with bags galore, this guy has utilitarian dressing with a streetwear spin down to a tee.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: the streetwear-meets-skatewear aesthetic isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. This fella is definitely on board with the look (in case his set of wheels didn’t give it away), choosing to mix and match staple pieces from both styles. Wearing a graphic-print T-shirt and a Pfizer racing jacket, he balances the vibrancy of his top half with deep khaki loose-fitting skater-style trousers. A matching beanie, emergency-orange bum bag and streetwear-savvy Nike Dunks round off his getup.

Get shirty
Hastily packed away your revere-collar shirts? Well, this chap is proof that there’s longevity in the short-sleeved summer staple. Opting for a multicoloured blotted shirt, he pairs his whacky pick with a pair of autumn-ready high-wasted check trousers. Copy his style and throw on a steezy bomber jacket when the temperature starts to dip. A Kevin and Perry-esque bucket hat, cross-body bag and adidas x Raf Simons Ozweego 2 trainers make for the ideal finishing touches. Oh, and it also helps that his partner’s mastered the muted brown colour palette, too.

Nice and easy
Another proponent of cargo trousers, this fella’s streetwear ensemble is definitely the most laid-back in our list. To up the utilitarian vibes, he’s chosen to rock a pair of chunky-soled creps in the same tone as his trews. A graphic-print tee and an artisanal bum bag complete his casual look. For the transitional period, channel his style and layer up with an oversized hoodie to tackle the temperamental weather.
