FLAT LAY
YOUR 90s HIP-HOP OUTFIT
By Caroline Ferry, 17 July 2018
This hot weather is staying, there’s no doubt about it. So don’t struggle through another summer month in gear that provides almost blackout levels of overheating. Your legs have enjoyed a couple of months of vitamin D at this point, so may as well show them off while you can, right?
Enter: your new shorts. And not just shorts, but a whole summertime outfit that will be your best wingman at all the festivals, park days and beer gardens still in your sights this summer. So what are we dealing with here? The vibe is a mash-up of the all-star line-up that is DJ Jazzy Jeff, Jungle Brothers and The Fresh Prince himself. Loads of prints, clashing tops and bottoms but with box-fresh kicks and a bucket hat for that all-important nod to the golden age of hip-hop.
Style notes to remember? The beauty of going 90s with your prints means there’s no such thing as too much. Colours should be bright and bold, prints should be loud and almost gaudy, and the shirt should never be buttoned up. Nope, not ever. Your look here is chilled-as. Easy does it.
