YOUR SOCKS AND SLIDERS OUTFIT

If your dad was a young(ish) dude in the 90s, he probably rocked sports socks with his sliders à la every hip-hop icon of the era (2Pac, Snoop Dogg, you name it). Since then, the oddball combination has largely been seen as a sartorial faux pas, but guess what – the look is back in a big way for SS18. Here’s how to style the combo and make your old man proud in the process...

To put your look together with finesse, flip the script and build your outfit from toe to head. Start with a pair of fresh sliders from a notable sportswear brand – think adidas, Nike or Lacoste – and go for a contrasting pair of striped sports socks to draw attention to your feet.
As for the rest of your outfit, keep the striped theme going for an element of off-kilter uniformity. With this summer heatwave showing no sign of easing, keep your layers light – pick a long-sleeved top with horizontal stripes and layer it under a short-sleeved shirt with vertical stripes for a touch of skater steez. Then go for a pair of denim skater shorts, and pop a cap on your head to shield yourself from the sun. Throw in a neon-coloured flight bag for an on-trend flourish and you're ready to show your dad how it’s done in 2K18.
