As is customary with fashion month, street stylers turned up in their droves in January to flex in some of the finest ’fits around. From on-trend chunky-soled creps to standout ski jackets, the AW18 shows offered up quality sartorial moments both on and off the runway. We couldn’t let all that inspiration go to waste, so here’s an outfit influenced by one of the looks we spotted on the concrete catwalk.

The look

Everyone who works in fashion wears black all the time, right? Well, this guy’s chosen to play around with the stereotype by going for a road-ready take on mainly monochrome complete with a graphic-print tee and patterned trews.

How to do it

To follow suit, don a similar T-shirt and layer up with a padded jacket in the same hue to show that you’re also in on the 90s outerwear hype. Then, opt for red check trews and add in a light-brown leather belt to give your ensemble a refined edge. On foot, go for a pair of classic monochrome Nike Cortez – another old-school trainer silhouette that’s currently enjoying a renaissance. Finish off your getup by wearing a bum bag across your body – as you can see above, the fashionable lot wouldn’t rock it any other way.
