3 HAIRSTYLES FOR WINTER 2018
By Lakeisha Goedluck, 6 January 2018

Free ’fro
If you’re lucky enough to be blessed with thick, afro-textured hair, then skip the headgear altogether this season and let your ’fro fly free. Make sure to use shea butter-based products to grease your hairline and prevent your hair from drying out. Trim the ends to maintain the shape of your afro, and either comb out your hair for extra volume or use a light styling spray to ensure that your curls stay intact.

90s nostalgia
Last year, the 90s received a lot of hype – and it seems that that’s not about to change in 2K18. To pay homage to the era from head to toe (you’ve already got your retro creps sorted, right?), then throw it back boy-band style with this take on a classic haircut. Leave your fringe long and part your hair slightly off-centre to achieve those Leo DiCaprio-style curtains with an updated twist. Remember to get some pomade into the mix to keep your hairstyle sleek and shiny.

Schoolboy slick
To achieve this look, think your year-seven school photo but with added steez. The trick is to get your hair cut so that it’s an even texture all over – make sure that the hair around your ears and neck are cut with extra precision, as this style will only work if your cut is proper sharp. Subtly side-part your hair and use a little styling clay to achieve that disheveled look with your fringe.
