4 RETRO KNITWEAR STYLES
By Spencer Cain, 28 October 2018
The cardigan has had a number of iterations over the years. What began as a military-inspired garment became a womenswear staple thanks to Coco Chanel. Years later, it nabbed icon status in the 70s as dad-fashion skyrocketed in popularity to counter the disco era. Courtesy of mega-brands like Gucci and Saint Laurent, retro embellished and patterned cardigans are now catwalk staples. Nothing shows respect to the old school quite like a check print. Make the 'fit a 2018 hit by going slightly oversized, and pair with wide-leg trousers for a transitional home run.

Autumn/winter does tend to have people reaching for a grey palette – but frankly, we're down to switch things up. Just because the weather is bleak doesn't mean a pop of neon yellow isn't a welcome addition to the simplest of looks. As this textured knit is high on the bold spectrum, try styling it with wide-leg trews and monochrome trainers, swapping in a khaki waterproof parka on rainy days.
