When autumn hits, it’s common to want to dabble in darker colours and layer up with heavy fabrics. But here, @asos_ashley shows that sometimes you’re better off injecting the lightness of summer into your wardrobe instead. Notice how he’s got his warm-weather-ready white trews on and accompanies them with threads in soft, earthy tones. To signify that he’s set for AW17, he gives his look a robust edge with a structured jacket. Lightweight layering, mastered.

Dressing simply is usually favoured in autumn, so here’s some minimalist inspiration from @asos_oliver. Up top, he’s wearing a pale-grey crew-neck with a classic white T-shirt subtly peeking out from underneath. He pairs his top half with wide-leg cropped trousers in a slightly darker shade for a tonal triumph. Accessories-wise, he’s got an oversized bum bag slung over his shoulder, while his iconic Nike Cortez trainers offer the only hint of colour his outfit needs.

As he lives in Australia, @asos_jono probably isn’t used to dealing with the cold, but that hasn’t stopped him from compiling an ensemble that shows he’s fully prepared for the Northern Hemisphere. Predominantly opting for deep-blue garms, it’s the mismatch of textures that really makes his ’fit (shout-out to the suede bomber jacket). He even jumps on the corduroy hype with a distressed pair of dad-worthy trousers – and earns extra props for offsetting his look with a bright-red cotton jumper.

Another Insider that’s evidently a fan of a neutral palette is @asos_dennis. He effortlessly pairs his pin-rolled tan trousers with a beige coach jacket for a lesson in styling garms in subdued shades. When it comes to the art of layering, he’s got that down, too – with a white hoodie on underneath his jacket, making sure that it matches his ankle socks. To round off his look, he goes for black kicks that complement his functional rucksack. Travel getup, sorted.

To describe @asos_luce as a streetwear aficionado would be an understatement – the man’s got sportswear steez for days. Here, he goes for a Carhartt overhead jacket in a camouflage print with a pair of classic black adidas joggers that tone his look down. On foot, he swaps out a fresh pair of OG creps for sturdy hiking boots, and, of course, his 'fit wouldn’t be complete without that all-important bum bag.
