HOW TO WEAR NEW COLOUR COMBOS FOR AW17
By Lakeisha Goedluck, 12 October 2017
It may be getting darker outside, but that doesn’t mean your garms have to follow suit. Throw out the monochrome rulebook and switch up your colour combinations this season – as pastel pink, neon green and rich red find new shade sidekicks in these three fresh-for-AW17 looks.

Pink and gold
Prove that pastel pink can be just as fitting for autumn as it is for spring by going for a pair of worker-style trews in the sugary shade. The real trick is to emulate last year's tonal pink vibe, but instead of a jacket in an equally soft tone, wear one that adds some seasonal fallen leaves flavour.

As the 70s is still garnering a lot of sartorial hype, you can’t go wrong with a tan corduroy jacket. Up the retro autumnal feel with a plaid jumper in shades of gold, then pop on a classic pair of Converse for a peak dadcore touch.

Green and purple
To the untrained eye, the concept of combining lime green and grape seems like a disaster waiting to happen. But this fluorescent outfit is just what you need to combat the darkness – while nodding to the flashes of neon colour that featured in AW17 shows from the likes of AMI and Neil Barrett.

Get things off to a bold start by pairing a graphic-print green top with contrasting purple joggers for a streetwear edge. To slightly mute the effect, pick a longline check trench coat in a subdued grey and monochrome kicks to seal the deal.

Fiery 'fit
Red is an obvious choice for this time of year, so to really standout when wearing it, it’s all about how you style the colour. The stripped-back hoodie is popular again, so go for one in a fiery shade.

Match your trackies to your top half by selecting a pair with a side-stripe in the same colour. And to neatly round off your silhouette, and score some serious AW17 weird-colour-combo points, go for an old-school mustard tracksuit top.
