STYLISH GUYS IN TRACKSUITS
By Lakeisha Goedluck, 1 September 2018
For the past few seasons, streetwear has dominated the sartorial scene. It seems that the desire to look popping in your PE garms is still going strong, as street-stylers everywhere can routinely be spotted donning old-school tracksuits for every fashionable function. So, whether you’re about wearing the separate halves or the complete matching set, take a look at these guys in trackies for inspiration…

Standout shade
We’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again: emergency orange is the shade to be seen in for AW18. This guy knows what’s up, choosing to don a full Gucci two-piece set in the hue and a pair of matching old-school shades. As his tracksuit is ultra-bright, he balances out his look with a classic white T-shirt. A pair of retro-inspired adidas Yeezy 700 Wave Runner creps round off his ensemble – notice the hints of emergency orange on the midsoles. One-tone transitional dressing, sorted.

Sporty separates
If you’re a certified streetwear aficionado, you’ll know how to style a selection of pieces from numerous key brands at once. Kicking off his ensemble with a Supreme cap, this fella goes for a white Tommy Hilfiger track top paired with black bottoms. On foot, he rocks one of the most sought-after trainer silhouettes of the year: the Nike Air Monarch. And to finish off his road-ready look, he throws in a cross-body bag – a sartorial move that his mate clearly approves of.

An inadvertent streetwear favourite, Burberry’s iconic check print has been championed by niche British subcultures for decades. Rocking a pair of standout trackies that make use of the pattern, this street-styler keeps the rest of his aesthetic decidedly low-key. An oatmeal-coloured track top, black jacket, beanie and corresponding Converse trainers make for a nostalgia-ridden 90s-centric ’fit.

Graphic-print gear
Graphic-print tees have enjoyed a moment in the spotlight this summer, so carry on the hype well into AW18 by going for a long-sleeved iteration like this chap. Using the detailing on his 032c top as a starting point, he opts for a vintage-inspired pair of adidas originals tracksuit bottoms in cherry red. Clean white NMD trainers from the brand and a pair of all-black shades à la Neo from The Matrix complete his quirky ensemble.

Side-stripe steez
Camo cuts and side-stripe joggers were ubiquitous last autumn/winter, and this street-styler is out to prove that they can still be styled in a slick, up-to-date way this year. Go for a vibrant jumper to team with your standout camouflage-print puffer – the trick is to match the colour of your under layer to the stripe on your trews. Pop on a pair of chunky white kicks for a neat minimal finish.
