HOW TO WEAR: DENIM FOR AW17
By Anna Heaton, 31 August 2017
Autumn is en route – bringing with it the dropping of leaves and a chill in the air that'll mark the return of your denim comfort zone: jeans and a long-sleeved jacket. If you're looking for some new ways to wear your Canadian tuxedo, together or otherwise, that's where we come in. Shall we?

If there's one smooth addition guaranteed to smarten up your denim, it's a trench coat. The don of transitional dressing, layer it over a thick denim shirt (buttoned up at the top) and a classic breton tee.

Double up on the blue hues with wide-leg jeans, belted for shape and add fresh white kicks. Seamless.

Pick up the slacks
Use your denim shirt as a light layer over some cosy knitwear to mix up your cooler-weather look for the new season. Take inspiration from double denim and play with the same colour palette using different textures, like this navy cord.

The combination of a lightweight overshirt on top of a neutral, oatmeal jumper is the ideal, minimal layering solution for those in-between months before the cold properly kicks in.

Good sport
The late 80s and early 90s continue to be big in the menswear game, so opting for a sporty take on denim via a half-zip top will keep you on point for AW17 – especially if you clash it against a slick blazer.

The splash of yellow gives a nod to the most important Pantone shade of the year and looks more premium with burgundy accents and zip detailing. The retro jeans complement the sporty twist, while the oversized tailoring gives off those new-but-vintage feels.
