OUTFIT OF THE DAY
#1,197 KANYE'S 90S NICENESS
By Sam Higgins, 12 June 2017
No, you haven’t woken up from your weekend slumber to find you’ve travelled back in time to the 90s. Kanye West’s just out here reviving hip-hop’s seminal, super-oversized-everything trend.
Kanye’s homage to the style gods of the 90s didn’t hit full floor-scraping proportions, but he did take his signature, boxier fits to a new level in Calabasas at the end of last week. And while they weren’t the most seasonal of clothing choices from Ye, each key piece’s baggy fit did at least allow extra room for breathability in the LA sunshine.
He started with the signed, beige cap Shia LaBeouf gave him before keeping things tonal with a piece of rare vintage COMME des CARÇONS knitwear. A white tee, layered underneath that second-hand store holy grail, was left poking out at the hem, while below the belt his baggy camo cargo trousers flowed into his new dad-inspired Yeezy runners to complete a virtually-uncoppable collection of cool cuts.
