#1,165 ZAYN MALIK'S 90S MASH-UP
By Matt Glazebrook, 7 May 2017
Zayn Malik here, transcending eras and subcultures to unite us all through the power of really specific retro fashion.

Last week, we saw Zayn channel the 90s pub lad look to surprisingly elegant effect. But on Wednesday, the ex-Directioner dramatically switched sartorial allegiances to the 90s pub lad’s arch enemy: the grebo.
In truth, it’s mainly up top that Zayn embodies grebo steez: his sharp undercut contrasting with the floppiest of fringes; the whole thing dyed a grimy shade of green. Elsewhere, it’s a more eclectic mix of vintage references: a cool Public Enemy T-shirt where a Ned’s Atomic Dustbin top should really be, stone-washed jeans replacing baggy shorts, simple black suede boots without a hint of Tippex customisation.
And over the top, instead of a German army surplus parka, the very same black biker jacket he wore in his previous townie homage. It's like the great fashion wars of 1992 never happened.
