OUTFIT OF THE DAY
#1170 BROOKLYN’S MILITARY MASTER STROKE
By Sarah Kershaw, 12 May 2017
There’s a moment in every true style influencer’s life when they emerge from a well-dressed (or, sometimes, overly experimental) chrysalis as a fully fledged fashion icon. This is Brooklyn Beckham’s.
At only 18, the son of the widely acknowledged best-dressed man in Britain has had plenty of outfit hits, encompassing skate steez, smart/casual and even bumblebee stripes, but this look signifies the coming together of all his styling skills in one excellent outfit.
Walking the red carpet at the London premiere of family friend Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword, in which his old man appears alongside fellow stylish guy Charlie Hunnam, he finally outshined David in the style stakes. There was a military tone to his look, straight out of upcoming blockbuster Dunkirk. Paper-bag-waist khaki trousers and a loose tan belt go with chunky black army boots like bluebirds and the white cliffs, while a classic white tee and a steampunk-style watch are the ideal civvy accompaniment to the standard-issue threads.
The crowning glory? His new hairstyle, which has been a long time in the making but had the perfect 40s vibes to finish off such an accomplished look. Brooklyn Beckham, welcome to the style hall of fame.
