This season we're doing denim differently, which means it’s time relegate your generic everyday jeans and try one of our ripped, customised, bleached or all-in-one styles on for size. Here’s our guide to getting 2017’s strongest denim trends right.

Bleached out: look 1

80s acid-wash and bleached denim is big news in menswear, so go for a pair of splattered skinny jeans to get in on the action early. Wear this style with a black leather jacket and bulky Chelsea boots to amp up the steez top and bottom.

Underneath, update your vintage vibe by layering a black shirt over a brown polo tee, add some silver jewellery and you’ve brought your punk-inspired denim bang up to date.

If you’re not down for getting leathered this spring, do bleached denim with a boxy white jacket. Pairing patterned jeans with a clean, crisp top will keep things looking nice and fresh.

Work in a 70s style track jacket for a pop of colour and a pair of black loafers or kicks to lock in your look.

Ready for some trashed, repaired and reconstructed workwear? We’ve been ripping up our jeans for a while, but there’s a new breed of damaged denim that's made up of way more than knee rips and nicks.

Extreme knee holes make room for some cool cargo-pocket detailing in this pair of pale-wash jeans. Wear with a band tee, plaid shirt and black overcoat to create a 90s grunge feel.

For a more summery feel, trade in your music memorabilia for a Levi's tee that has Americana oozing from its very seams.

If you’re after an edgier take on your go-to cuts, try a patched, embroidered update on standard denim jeans and jackets. This pair of customised wash-black skinnies are the perfect punk-inspired piece to experiment with.

Wear turned up and with an oversized yellow hoodie to stop things feeling too macabre. Layer over a sleeveless checked shirt and pop on a pair of black Converse and you're SS17 ready.
