Since being dredged out of the ‘defunct sportswear’ section of the adidas archive in 2014, the Tubular series has been delivering hit after hit on the lifestyle sneaker scene. The latest twist on that original athletic DNA is the Tubular Shadow.
ADIDAS ORIGINALS TUBULAR SHADOW
By Nic Hayman, 16 April 2017
It may have lost the inflatable sole since coming back (check in with the sneakerheads at Looped for more on that), but today’s Tubular family still channels the same radical design ethos as the original. Only now, rather than catering to clientele who fancy running on inner tubes, it’s blowing hot in the style ranks instead.
This colourway makes full use of the shoe’s two-tone construction, with embossed spring camo patterning on the lateral side, and solid grey suede on the medial – truly a trainer of two halves. A pair of Tubular Shadows makes for an easy go-to in the summer months – just pair them with cuffed chinos or shorts and a Trefoil tee. Get over to @asos_man now for your chance to win.
