NYFW AW17 STREET STYLE
By Kasia Hastings and Sam Higgins, 2 February 2017
There's big change afoot in America, but one thing that stays the same is the biannual influx of stylish guys who take to the streets of the Big Apple for NYFW. Here are the six street stylers setting the standard in New York.

Even a fashion-week blizzard can’t throw this guy off his style game. Some clever layering, a strong colour palette and cheekbones carved by the gods themselves are all this intrepid explorer needs to make it to his next show. It’s more model behaviour from one of our favourite ASOS faces.

Football (or SOCCER!, seeing as we’re in New York) continues to infiltrate fashion via a patterned scarf or replica shirts placed front and centre in a ‘fit. Take this guy here, who chose Juventus as his top of choice and simply layered it over a hoodie. Meanwhile, his bomber-clad pal kept him engrossed in something on his phone – probably that elusive pink away top.

You can picture the scene – this fella, waking from a sofa-based slumber, to see his younger brother wielding a Sharpie and a smug smile on his face. Luckily for him, illustrated kit is all the rage right now, so he styled out his scribbled-on set of white threads by layering them over a hoodie, throwing on a black-and-white striped scarf and finishing with a bold red jacket over the top for an injection of colour.

This guy’s got winter apocalypse steez down to a T. His big textured overcoat, tartan shirt, hoodie and beanie combination has got Jake Gyllenhaal circa The Day After Tomorrow written all over it. His puffed-up pal can only look on in amazement.

Not only is this guy sporting our favourite ‘do right now – dyed twists – he’s even managed to match it to his classic blue denim for a literal head-to-toe tonal look. His vintage-looking floral shirt gives us wistful feelings for the warmer days of summer, but as the temperature remains lingering in the single figures, the stylish street styler layered up with an understated black hoodie. Strong.

Representing ASOS, our man Jovel was out and about at shows acting as something of a walking trend guide. Get your checklists at the ready, guys, it's time to play Street-Style Bingo. Oversized, faux-fur coat – tick. Roll-neck – tick. Camo-print cargo trousers – tick. Pastel kicks – tick. That’s a full house from our man in the States.
