NYFW AW17 MEN’S STREET STYLE
By Matt Glazebrook, 18 February 2017
New York Fashion Week (the women's version) has wrapped up for another year and, while we've all been buzzing about Raf Simons' debut Calvin Klein collection and Kanye's strong (and surprisingly controversy-free) new Yeezy show, the stylish guys of the Big Apple have been quietly going about their business, getting papped wearing good clothes. A slouchy skate sweatshirt under a smart overcoat is basically page one of the street-stylers guidebook (2017 edition), but that doesn't mean we aren't going to tip our hat (or slightly raise the hood of our slouchy skate sweatshirt) when we see a particularly strong example of the trend. Here our hero elevates his standard Thrasher top with a seriously dapper checked overcoat, a mustard-coloured beanie and a sneaky denim shirt for bonus layering points.

Whatever works. If by 'whatever' you mean a nice navy wool polo coat worn over a cosy logo sweatshirt/roll-neck combo with wide-leg charcoal trousers and a cool, incongruous pair of adidas Superstars. Because, yeah, that definitely works.

One half of this street-style power couple is wearing a reversible Love Will Keep Us Together/Love Will Tear Us Apart T-shirt from the brand Darylstudio, with the more happy, Captain & Tennille-referencing side facing outwards. Which is good. But if she did decide to flip the slogan, at least her fella's got a solid pair of hiking boots (along with a quality technical jacket and snug oversize hoodie in on-trend dirty pink) to hit the road in style.

When you've got lazing around the house watching old episodes of Homes Under The Hammer from 12pm till 8pm, but have to be at Studio 54 in the late 70s at 9pm.
