STYLISH GUYS AT PARTIES
By Kasia Hastings, 8 December 2016
Nailing a big-night outfit is no mean feat, but there are some men who master making an impact with minimal effort whatever the occasion. Here’s how this elite breed of style maestros produce on-point party looks all season long.

A$AP Rocky
First up, it’s stylish man A$AP Rocky showing us exactly how to look smart without a suit at an Art Basel party in Miami. The rapper's signature mix of cool streetwear cuts and high-fashion threads is a sartorial cocktail worth trying this Christmas. The New Yorker is the best-dressed man in most rooms and you could be, too (or at least your office party) with a little help from a pair of printed trousers and a MA1 bomber. Avoid any morning-after-the-outfit-before regret by keeping things coordinated. Match your jacket with the predominant colour in your pattern of choice and add a white shirt or tee underneath for a nice crisp finish.

Brooklyn Beckham
Here’s Becks' boy, Brooklyn, cutting his teeth on the party circuit in some 70s rocker threads. Like Brooklyn's, your saturated social calendar is no doubt inundated with events that require you to strike an almost impossible smart/casual balance. Curating a stylish low-key look is always helped by a strong colour palatte. Brooklyn smartens up his leather jacket, T-shirt and skinny jeans with a solid all-black aesthetic. A darker palette is a guaranteed way of making casual staples more party appropriate and it’ll do some good streamlining work while it’s at it. He factors in some brown suede boots to stop things feeling too uniform and this young gun is ready to hit the bar… for a soft drink.

Jaden Smith
This festive season, anything goes and Jaden Smith clearly got the memo. No, we’re not talking novelty knits, but high-impact printed tailoring that isn’t for the faint hearted. Enter Smith, a man with style prowess well beyond his 18 years, wearing a striped blue satin suit. Granted, if there’s one place anything goes it’s the British Fashion Awards, but this tasteful take on patterned suiting is the perfect way to peacock at your next Christmas party. Vertical stripes are always a smart choice and a white shirt keeps things nicely understated.

Zayn Malik
Our man Zayn Malik knows how to pull together a good outfit and here he masters suave 60s suiting for a night out in New York. A double-breasted jacket isn’t an easy thing to pull off, but it’s a perfect fit for Malik’s slimmer build. He swaps a shirt out for a roll-neck for a more informal retro touch, but works in some matching trousers and smart black shoes on the bottom to stop things feeling too dated.

Joey Bada$$
You’re bound to have a few nights that call for straight-up casual style, but that doesn’t mean your look should be any less lit. Follow in the stylish footsteps of rapper Joey Bada$$ and lead with a statement top half. With jeans definitely on the agenda, a bright jacket or interesting shirt worn over a tee is cool way of keeping things interesting. A popping outer shell like Joey’s red jacket nicely accents more understated styles. Trade in your trainers for boots to give a slightly smarter vibe, or keep it steezy with a fresh pair of kicks.
