Hiking gear is having a real moment right now – so much so that, for the second Sneaker Sunday in a row, we’re talking about a shoe with a whole host of outerwear influence: the le coq sportif R800 90s Outdoor.

No, lcs aren’t really suggesting you lace these up for a spot of countryside rambling – mud and suede aren’t exactly the best bedfellows. The shoe gets its ‘outdoor’ moniker from the various tones and textures borrowed from hiking gear: those flecked laces, the speckled sole and the vibrant orange pops owe their inspiration to the unique trends that walked the trails in the 90s. Aside from those touches, the crep boasts the usual level of luxe that the French brand has made itself famous for: deep-blue suede with some carefully-placed perforations, subtle midfoot branding and that sharp, OG shape.
