FLAT LAY
YOUR END-OF-SUMMER OUTFIT
By Sam Higgins, 19 September 2017
This week, we officially let go of summer for another year. So, sure, we could spend the next month moping around, daydreaming of the 30°C days that have been and gone, or we could take the opportunity the colder temperature offers to show off our seasonal sartorial skills. Here's how to do the latter.

To simply revert to black in the colder months would be to waste all of the bold patterns at the core of our summery ‘fits. Instead, compromise by giving the key pieces a fitting update with a smattering of autumnal tones. Firstly, throw on a printed red shirt with a slate-grey long-sleeved T-shirt over the top for a neat contrast. And to show that you're fully ready for the new season, layer up with a tan cord jacket to accentuate the richness of your shirt.
Lightweight trews may have decorated your legs in summer, but it’s now time to welcome back denim as your cut of choice for AW17. Here, a pair of dip-dyed distressed jeans provides a perfect base for brighter tones to shine, while sandals and sports socks serve as a solid way to reinvent your summer footwear for cooler days. To round off your look, throw a simple black bum bag over your shoulders to house any extra essentials. Sorted.
