Stylish city: Seoul
By Luke Keleher, 30 August 2016
With our sights set firmly east, towards the city that gave us K-pop, Psy and Samsung, we're packing our bags ready for a bit of South Korean style. Here's where to go and what to wear in this month's stylish city – Seoul.

Go here: Not just a metropolis which boasts both glittering skyscrapers and ancient Korean culture, Seoul is also the nation's fashion capital, spanning the vast reach of everything from the luxury district of Cheongdam-dong (think Korea's Milan) to the indie and vintage scene of Hongdae. To really immerse yourself in the colourful, frantic fashion culture here, spend a day wandering the markets of Namdaemun and Dongdaemun. This is where buyers from fashion houses across the globe research the latest trends, so you'll be one step ahead of your mates.

Do this: The city's thriving menswear scene has snatched the attention of the world’s fashion elite, borne off the success of homegrown brands (such as the alt-rocker looks from Blindness, soft tailoring by Ordinary People or streetwear from 87mm) so window shopping is a must. Make like the locals and see a 4D film, sip the local tipple makgeolli or go to the silent disco that winds its way around the Hongdae streets.

Wear this: A powerful pair of indigo jeans with a deep, frayed turn-up provides a solid base for an outfit worthy of this sartorially savvy city. Up top, opt for a vintage band tee, layered underneath the jacket du jour for 2016 – the sukajan. Pack your Korean dictionary and travel guide in a camo-printed adidas backpack while a pair of low-top white sneakers will see you right for all that sightseeing.
