MFW SS17: street style
By Matt Glazebrook, 22 June 2016
No sign of any bleach boys or the spaghetti south-western trend among the fashionable fellas outside the MFW SS17 shows. Why not? Because they're not time-travellers – they're just a bunch of guys, wearing some clothes you can buy right now, standing in front of street-style photographers, asking us to say they look great. So we did.

When your hair is this ace (and perfectly spherical), you’re gonna want to keep the rest of your getup nice and simple. Like, grey-marl Nike sweatshirt and charcoal chinos simple.

Souvenir jacket straight out of an American army camp in 50s Japan, polo shirt from the back of a moped in 60s Brighton, glasses from a very specific type of 70s film... it shouldn't add up, but somehow this guy has straight nailed summer 2016.

Seasons change, trends come and go, fashion recycles and reinvents itself, but some things remain constant. Dressing all in black with solid facial hair, never-off sunglasses and arm full of old-school tattoos always looks cool.

Mr polka dot tee and chocolate bomber jacket here is pushing hard for a deserved silver medal, but there can be only one comfy, casualwear champion.

The fashion-week drape is strong with this one, but then, if we owned a classic MA-1 bomber jacket this sweet, we wouldn't waste time faffing around trying to get our arms in the sleeves either. We'd just sling it over our shoulders, lean up against a wall and wait for the style props to come flooding our way.

Sure lefty's got the Supreme sweatshirt and the Supreme sunglasses (not to mention the slicked-down side-parting and the statement necklace), but who needs such full-kit fripperies when you have a brilliant green Ralph Lauren polo shirt and just the right shade of door to wear it in front of?

This guy is how we'd dress for work if our work had a dress code.
