Summer 2016: hair trends
By Luke Keleher, 27 May 2016
You’re already up to speed on the key pieces and shoe styles set to take summer 2016 by storm, so brushing up on the hairstyles to send your ‘fits into overdrive is the logical next step. Whether you’re beach hopping or bar crawling over the next few months, choose a style to suit your summer plans. We’ve enlisted the help of the grooming gods at Ruffians Barbers to break down three of the season’s most handsome hair trends.
First up is this short surfer style. With lots of movement through the hair, this is a hairstyle that can be textured and turned up to full volume with salt spray, or left to hang loose with no product at all. With a fuss-free crop like this, you can head full-throttle into summer without sacrificing your style.
When it comes to a festival fix-up, the answer to your grooming woes comes in the form of a shorter, more manageable cut. Styled up with texturising powder or dry shampoo, this style makes going without showering pretty much (sort of) fine.
If you’re aiming to remain sharp this summer, bin the beachy waves and opt for a scissor-cut, soft side parting instead. Think short back and sides but a bit more grown up – though equally low maintenance. To smarten up this cut, all it takes is a heavier, slicker product like a pomade to give you a sharper silhouette.
