While there are many naysayers when it comes to the man bun, for longer-haired folk, its practicality can’t be denied. With the hairstyle evolving into both stylish and less-stylish variations, nailing the topknot has become a difficult task. Gareth Bale has managed to make it look easy, however, and for that, he can add a Hairstyle Of The Month title to his growing trophy cabinet.
Hairstyle of the month #3

Last month, we saw Aaron Paul make the most of what he has left while this time, we see Gareth Bale make the most of what he has lots of. You don’t see many footballers with longer locks and there’s a solid reason why – bounding about the pitch for 90 minutes is just going to leave your flowing hair absolutely everywhere. But Bale evidently isn’t down for chopping and changing his do, so he skilfully found a way to contain his crop without resorting to the barber’s chair.
He showed exactly how the man bun should to be done, pulling his flowing hair back into a neat knot at the crown of his head. In doing so, the Welshman has produced a style that will not only contain his hair for a match, but will also work in more formal settings, too. Also, unlike many cuts, very limited maintenance is needed to make it work, leaving Bale to focus his full attention on Real Madrid’s next opponent.
