STYLE ADVICE

Brand-loyal celebrities

We’ve all got a favourite brand – that one label that seems to have found its way inside your head, taken your idea of great clothes and made them a reality. Although stylish A-listers often cop designer threads for free and many even have their own lines, some celebs still stand by a certain clothes company, regardless of the other temptations on offer. Here are five of the most brand loyal.

A$AP Rocky – Gosha Rubchinskiy

We have Gosha Rubchinskiy to thank for the plaid masterpiece A$AP treated us to earlier this year – the Russian designer's jacket providing the final element of his multi-layered, multi-coloured 'fit. And Lord Flacko evidently holds his work in high regard, staying true to his threads even though – since earning himself the title of hip-hop's new style icon – the rapper's wardrobe has got a high-end upgrade with Gucci and more.

Rocky's love for Gosha doesn't just stick with plaid pieces or beanies, either – we saw him on stage at the VMAs last year in a sweatshirt from the luxe streetwear king's collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger.

Harry Styles – Saint Laurent

Harry Styles seems to love anything Hedi Slimane touches. Whether it’s a sheepskin gilet, a simple overcoat or a souvenir jacket, he's always had a penchant for Saint Laurent. The aesthetic of the fashion house seemingly goes hand-in-hand with Harry's rock 'n' roll style, as showcased here with his unbuttoned floral shirt.

We've also seen the singer don Saint Laurent's take on the 2016-favourite souvenir jacket, but with Hedi now gone from the French brand and the 70s, rock-inspired touch he had on their recent lines likely to shift, Harry faces a true test of brand loyalty.

Justin Bieber – Fear Of God

Remember Bieber’s controversial Nirvana tee? The Marilyn Manson one, too? There’s one brand you’ve got to blame for that – Fear Of God. Recently, as Bieber’s sartorial choices become more experimental – especially when performing on stage – the US brand has been there, supplying him with the perfect ingredients to cook up fresh ‘fits on the regular.

Whether it’s simply a vintage band tee, a pairing of plaid or more unusual pieces like kilts, Bieber’s only shopping in one place for it all right now.

Kanye West – Alpha Industries

We could have easily put Yeezy here, as Kanye sure does love repping his own line, but sitting underrated on top of his boxy camo tees and distressed sweatshirts is usually an Alpha Industries MA-1 bomber. Whether he’s utilising its vibrant orange inner lining to inject a hint of colour to a simple, monochrome ‘fit, or throwing a khaki colourway on to take all the attention, Ye’s love for the brand is without question.

And it’s safe to say his backing has seen the bomber leap to new sartorial levels in the last few years. Whether it’s in khaki, black or blue, Kanye still stays true to his favourite bulky flight jacket.

Tyler, The Creator – Vans

‘Oh you wearing Vans and Supreme this season? Stop lying’ to yourself, me the reason’, Tyler raps in his track What The F*ck Right Now. It may sound like an arrogant statement, but it’s one that is hard to argue with. Before his own GOLF WANG label rose to popularity, Tyler inspired the youth of today to invest in Supreme box logo products – something that saw the streetwear brand rise to cult status.

But Tyler has always stayed consistent when it comes to his feet and there’s only one brand good enough – Vans. So strong is his love for the footwear masters, they're the only brand he has allowed GOLF WANG to collaborate with.
